Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-awaited romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has opened on a promising note at the box office. The film, which also stars Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra, registered an impressive start on its first day, earning Rs 9.25 crore net in India (early estimates). This is one of the strongest openings for a rom-com in 2025, surpassing all romantic films released this year except the drama Saiyaara.

According to trade reports, the movie recorded an overall 34.08% Hindi occupancy on Thursday, 2 October 2025. Audience response gradually picked up through the day. Occupancy figures stood at 14.77% in morning shows, 38.93% in the afternoon, 43.65% in the evening, and 38.95% at night. Positive word of mouth will further boost collections as the extended weekend unfolds.
With its light-hearted storyline, fresh pairing, and upbeat music, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has struck the right chord with young audiences. If the current trend continues, the film is set for a strong opening weekend and could emerge as one of the biggest rom-com hits of the year.
