In a significant development, the Bombay High Court has granted major relief to actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. The court directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return her passport. It also permanently relaxed the bail conditions imposed after her arrest following the actor’s death in 2020.

Rhea, through her advocate Ayaz Khan, requested the relief, citing lost overseas opportunities due to the passport restriction. While the NCB opposed, the court noted her consistent cooperation in trial proceedings and compliance with prior travel permissions. Justice Gokhale highlighted that the other accused had received similar relief, affirming there was no reason to doubt her availability for the trial’s conclusion.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Rhea shared that even after the clean chit, the experience had deeply affected her and her family, altering their lives permanently. The CBI had earlier found no evidence implicating her, closing the chapter on allegations in the high-profile case.
