Deepika Padukone’s Demands That Led to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’s Termination: 25% Hike, Star Perks and More

Kalki

The buzz around Kalki 2898 AD just got louder, but not for the right reasons. On Thursday morning, the producers officially confirmed Deepika Padukone’s exit from the much-anticipated sequel, citing “commitment issues.” Behind the scenes, however, the story is far juicier. Sources reveal that Deepika demanded a 25% fee hike along with shorter, seven-hour workdays.

The VFX-heavy spectacle was a deal-breaker for this film. Added to that were luxury perks, a large entourage of 25 members, and five-star accommodation, which led to tempers running high on the sets.

Even after negotiations and offers of compromise, the actress reportedly refused to budge. The producers, already balancing massive budgets and star power, were left with no choice but to cut ties. With Prabhas still headlining the project, the film will move forward, though it has raised fresh debates on star demands versus production realities.
