Anant Ambani’s Vantara has released a statement in response to the Supreme Court’s order to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing allegations against its wildlife facility in Jamnagar. In the statement, Vantara emphasised its commitment to transparency, saying, “We remain focused on the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of animals, fully complying with the law.”
Vantara Releases Statement
The SIT, chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Jasti Chelameswar, will examine issues including elephant transfers, adherence to the Wildlife Protection Act, CITES compliance, and animal welfare standards. Vantara assured full cooperation while requesting that the process proceed without speculation.
The investigation follows public interest litigations and protests over the transfer of a 36-year-old elephant, Mahadevi, from Kolhapur. Vantara clarified its position as an independent rescue and rehabilitation center that provides veterinary care and shelter.
This development highlights the growing scrutiny around Anant Ambani’s Vantara, reinforcing calls for accountability and proper wildlife management.
