After the US imposed tariffs on Indian products, there has been a growing call in India to avoid buying American brands. Companies such as McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Amazon, and Apple are facing pressure as people and business leaders encourage the purchase of local products. While sales have not yet dropped significantly, the boycott reflects rising frustration over trade issues between the two countries due to US tariffs.
Support for Local Brands
Indian business leaders and citizens are promoting ‘Made in India’ products to boost the local economy in response to the recent US tariffs. Manish Chowdhary, co-founder of Wow Skin Science, emphasised the importance of supporting Indian companies and learning from nations such as South Korea, which successfully export food and beauty products worldwide. The movement aims to strengthen India’s industries during this trade conflict.
