The Indian Army on Monday shot dead Hashim Musa, the main suspect behind the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The encounter took place in the forest area near Dachigam, close to Srinagar. Two other suspected militants were also killed. Officials said Musa had changed his appearance to avoid arrest. He was believed to be involved in other terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was based on intelligence collected over the past few weeks.
Mastermind Killed in Operation Mahadev
Hashim Musa was identified as a key figure in planning the Pahalgam attack, which left 26 people dead. After weeks of tracking, security forces launched ‘Operation Mahadev’ to locate him. He was hiding in the forest near Srinagar. Two more militants, possibly Yasir and Abu Hamza of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed in the same operation. Their names have not been officially confirmed yet. The search is a part of an ongoing counterterror operation.
