With this, Gill matched legends like Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar, who also scored four centuries in a series, but neither did it away from home, nor while leading the team for the first time.

Shubman Gill scored four centuries in the Test series against England. Before him, only Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli had done this for India. Gill is the first to achieve it in England.

With an unbeaten 701 runs in the series so far, Gill has joined an elite group of Indians who have scored 700 or more runs in a single Test series. Only Sunil Gavaskar and Yashasvi Jaiswal had scored over 700 runs in a Test series before. Now, Shubman Gill joins them. He also became the first Indian since Sachin Tendulkar in 1990 to score a Test century at Old Trafford.
