India gave 24-year-old fast bowler Anshul Kamboj his first Test cap during the Test match against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. England opted to bowl first after winning the toss in the fourth Test. Due to injury concerns, India had to make three changes to their playing XI, which included the debut of Anshul Kamboj. Before the match began, former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta awarded Kamboj his first-ever Test cap.

Kamboj’s journey so far
Anshul Kamboj, 24, originally from Haryana, made his first-class debut in February 2022 Ranji Trophy. Since then, he has taken 79 wickets in 24 matches at an average of 22.88 and has also contributed with the bat in the lower order. He has also scored four 86 runs. In the IPL, he was picked by Mumbai Indians in 2024 and later by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 3.4 crore in 2025, taking eight wickets in eight games.
