Sabih Khan, an Indian-American technology executive, has been named Apple Inc.’s next Chief Operating Officer (COO). Khan, who has worked with the American tech juggernaut for three decades, will succeed Jeff Williams as COO later this month. Currently, he is the Vice President of the company.
Apple CEO Tim Cook termed Sabih as “brilliant strategist and one of the central architects of Apple’s supply chain.”
About Sabih Khan
Sabih Khan was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, in 1966 and moved to Singapore at the age of ten. He later pursued higher education at Tufts University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and mechanical engineering. Continuing his academic journey, he obtained a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
He joined GE Plastics, which is now SABIC, and served as an application development and key account technical leader. In 1995, he began working with Apple. During his 30-year tenure with the tech company, he helped shape Apple’s global supply chain. In 2019, he was appointed senior vice president of operations, in charge of building connections with green manufacturing suppliers to aid in environmental conservation efforts.
Khan has overseen product quality as well as planning, procurement, production, logistics, and product fulfilment operations. He has led Apple’s supplier responsibility activities, ensuring employee safety and education at global manufacturing facilities.
