Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested for allegedly cheating the actress out of Rs 77 lakh. Shetty was employed with Alia Bhatt between 2021 and 2024 and managed her finances and schedule. During this period, police say Shetty created fake bills and convinced Bhatt to sign off on them, claiming the expenses were related to work travel and meetings.

The fraud, which reportedly took place between May 2022 and August 2024, came to light when Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan, filed a complaint in January. Shetty is accused of moving the funds to a friend’s account, who later transferred the money back to her.
After the case was registered, Shetty fled and changed locations multiple times across Rajasthan, Karnataka, Pune, and Bengaluru. Juhu police finally arrested her in Bengaluru and brought her to Mumbai on a transit warrant. The investigation is ongoing, with more details expected to surface soon.
