$4.5 trillion in tax
The bill includes $4.5 trillion in taxes, making it a central element of the legislation. It raises the child tax credit from $2,000 to $2.200, although many lower-income families may not receive the full benefit. The package also provides temporary tax breaks on tips, overtime wages, and auto loans, aiming to offer short-term relief to working Americans. Seniors earning $75,000 or less will qualify for $6,000 tax deduction, supporting Trump’s promise to remove taxes on social security benefits.
The bill also cancels several clean energy centers created under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. These include tax credits for buying electric vehicles, installing EV chargers at home, and making energy-efficient upgrades. This signals a clear shift and Republican energy priorities.
