Deepika Padukone Paid Rs 73 Lakh for Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone is set to become the first Indian actress to receive a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced her as part of the Class of 2026 under the Motion Pictures category. It’s a proud moment for India, but one that comes with a steep price.

How much did Deepika Padukone pay for a star?

A star on the Walk of Fame isn’t just an honour; it costs money too. Upon selection, either the celebrity or a sponsor must pay $85,000 (nearly Rs 73 lakh) for the star’s creation, installation, and ongoing maintenance. Even the application costs $275 (about Rs 23,530).

While it’s unclear who covered Deepika’s cost, the recognition itself is priceless. She now has two years to schedule her unveiling ceremony. If not done, the honour expires.  She joins global icons like Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, and more.
