‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Breaks Box Office Record in Pakistan

Sardaar Ji 3

Diljit Dosanjh’s new Punjabi movie, ‘Sardaar Ji 3,’ has become a big hit in Pakistan. It earned around PKR 9 crore (about USD 500,000) in its first weekend, the highest for any Indian film in the country. The film was not released in India because of controversy over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Despite this, the film pulled large crowds in Pakistan, where audiences welcomed it with open arms. Videos shared online showed packed theatres and excited fans.

Massive crowd response

Even though Indian films have been banned in Pakistan since 2019, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ was allowed to release. It played in cinemas across the country. A top cinema owner, Nadeem Mandviwalla, said it had the best opening ever. He said people came to watch the movie because of the summer holidays and the need for good films in theatres. The movie’s success is being seen as a positive sign for Pakistan’s struggling cinema industry.
