Auto components maker Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar) appointed Jeffrey Mark Overly as its new chairman on Monday, following the death of Sunjay Kapur earlier this month. The board gave its approval for the appointment at a meeting held on June 23, 2025. Overly’s elevation comes at a critical juncture as the company looks to strengthen its position in the global EV and mobility components market.

Jeffrey Mark Overly: From GM to Sona Comstar Chairman
Jeffrey Mark Overly became an independent director on Sona Comstar’s board in February 2021 and had more than 43 years of international experience in the automotive industry. He spent 25 years in senior leadership roles at General Motors and Delphi Corporation, where he managed global operations and engineering.
Sona Comstar said Overly’s leadership will be key as the company expands its electric vehicle (EV) and mobility solutions portfolio across domestic and international markets.
