Following the tragic June 12 crash involving an Air India Dreamliner, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered immediate inspections across the airline’s Boeing 787 fleet. On Tuesday, the aviation regulator confirmed that no major safety concerns were found.
DGCA advises Air India on minor fixes
Out of Air India’s 33 Dreamliners, 24 passed checks by Tuesday afternoon. Two more were due for inspection the same day, and one more by Wednesday. Two jets grounded in Delhi and four under maintenance will be checked before re-entering service. DGCA has advised Air India to adopt a real-time defect tracking system to improve internal communication and safety assurance. These proactive measures aim to strengthen Air India’s maintenance practices and prevent future lapses.
