Ramesh’s brother Ajay was seated elsewhere and remains missing. From his hospital bed, Ramesh said, “Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed.” He told family he has “no idea” how he escaped the burning aircraft.

The plane, piloted by Capt. Sumeet Sabharwal, was fully fueled with 1 lakh litres of aviation turbine fuel. Officials say a mayday call was made moments before the crash. A CCTV clip shows the aircraft struggling to gain altitude. The investigation is ongoing as rescue operations continue.
