Royal Challengers Sports Limited (RCSL), the owner of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, has approached the Karnataka High Court. It wants the criminal case against it quashed after a stampede during the team’s victory parade on June 4 left 11 people dead and over 40 injured.

The tragic incident occurred outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during a felicitation event organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). An FIR was registered against RCB, event agency DNA Entertainment, KSCA, and others at Cubbon Park Police Station.

RCSL has said it is being falsely blamed. The company claims it clearly stated on social media that only registered fans with valid passes could attend. DNA Entertainment has also filed a plea in the High Court. Police say they had denied permission for the event due to crowd concerns. Investigations by the CID are ongoing, and one RCB official remains in custody.
