RCB To Pay Rs 10 Lakh Each For Stampede Victims’ Families

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic stampede that occurred in Bengaluru. Additionally, the franchise stated that they would establish a support fund to assist those who were injured during the incident, which took place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

The Statement

In an official statement released on Thursday, RCB expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that it had brought immense grief to the entire RCB family. As a gesture of respect and support, the team has committed to providing financial assistance to the families of the deceased and those injured.

The Incident

The stampede happened outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a large crowd had gathered to attend a felicitation ceremony for the RCB players following their victory in the IPL 2025 final against the Punjab Kings, which they won by six runs.

Despite the event being intended only for those with valid entry passes, thousands gathered at the venue, leading to overcrowding and chaos. Due to the mismanagement of the crowd, the situation turned deadly, resulting in the death of 11 people and injuries to nearly 50 others.
