The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has now announced a complete boycott of shooting in Turkey for all film shoots. The strict ban comes after Turkey’s continued support to Pakistan amid India-Pakistan tensions. The association had earlier also banned all Pakistani artists from working in India. AICWA, which represents thousands of Indian film industry workers, cited national security and public sentiment as the driving factors behind the decision.
AICWA’s Statement
The association announced on X that it will not allow any Indian film, television, or digital project to shoot in Turkey. Additionally, the association strictly prohibited collaborations with Turkish artists, filmmakers, and production houses. It also stated that it would review and potentially terminate existing agreements with Turkish entities. The association warned that it will take strict action against anyone who violates the ban. It further called for the immediate cancellation of visas and a visa ban for Turkish and Azerbaijani artists in India.
