Taking to X on May 14, Javed Akhtar urged the cricketer to reconsider his decision, calling it “premature.” In his post, Akhtar wrote, “Obviously Virat knows better but as an admirer of this great player, I am disappointed… I think there is still a lot of cricket in him.”
