India-Pakistan War Ends! Both Countries Agree to Ceasefire

Following four days of intense cross-border attacks, India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire. U.S. President Donald Trump was the first to indicate a ceasefire, announcing on Truth Social that the United States had mediated the negotiations. Soon after, The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting shared that the stoppage of firing & military action between India and Pakistan was worked out directly between the two countries.

Pakistan Foreign Minister’s Statement

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, confirmed that Pakistan had agreed to the ceasefire. Speaking to Pakistani media, he stated that “three dozen countries” were involved in the diplomatic efforts, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Indian Foreign Minister’s Statement

Shortly after, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that India had agreed to “cease all firing and military operations on land, in the air, and at sea.” In a brief press conference, he added that the ceasefire would take effect from 17:00 IST.

What is Ceasefire

A ceasefire is an agreement, usually between armies in a conflict, to end fighting. It is a temporary pause of hostilities that could lead to a more lasting peace. It can also be a unilateral proclamation to halt firing, such as the command cease fire.
