On April 22, 2025, a devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of at least 27 civilians and injured over 20 others. The assailants, affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, targeted tourists in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam. Among the deceased were 24 Indian tourists from various states, two locals from Jammu and Kashmir, and two foreign nationals from Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from across the nation. Several members of the film fraternity like Akshay Kumar, Rashmika Mandanna, Ram Charan and more condemned the attack.
