Ranbir Kapoor is all set to roar back onto the big screen with his upcoming epic, ‘Ramayana’. But before stepping into the divine shoes of Lord Ram, the actor has had his fair share of missed opportunities. Over the years, Ranbir has reportedly turned down several films that later went on to become massive hits or cult favourites. Whether due to timing, creative differences, or personal choice, these rejections have sparked plenty of “what if” conversations among fans and critics alike. Here’s a quick look at some of the films the 42-year-old actor said no to.

Movies rejected by Ranbir Kapoor

1. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’: Zoya Akhtar reportedly offered the role of Arjun to Ranbir. But the role later went to Hrithik Roshan.
2. ‘Gully Boy’: Ranbir had yet another chance to work with Zoya Akhtar in ‘Gully Boy’, but he turned it down. The role then went to Ranveer Singh, who received widespread critical acclaim.
3. ‘Delhi Belly’: Aamir Khan’s production house reportedly scouted several young actors to play lead in the movie, Ranbir was also offered the role. But Aamir’s nephew, Imran Khan, went on to play the lead role.
4. ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’: Reportedly both Ranbir and Kareena Kapoor were approached to play the brother-sister duo in the film. But both rejected the roles and it was eventually played by Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.
5. ‘2 States’: Ranbir was reportedly offered the lead role in the film but he turned it down. Arjun Kapoor went on to star with Ranbir’s now-wife, Alia Bhatt.
