  • In Maharshi Valmiki’s Ramayana, Lord Rama is believed to have been born on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the lunar cycle of Chaitra, which usually falls in March-April according to the Hindu calendar. This day is celebrated as Ram Navami.
  • According to the Ramayana, Lord Rama ruled his kingdom for 11,000 years, a period known as Rama Rajya. At the age of 25, he went into exile for 14 years and returned after defeating Ravana.
  • Lord Rama is considered the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Hindu mythology. Lord Brahma is the creator, Lord Vishnu is the preserver, and Lord Shiva is the destroyer.
