Manoj Kumar AKA ‘Bharat Kumar’ Passes Away at 87

Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, has passed away at the age of 87. People affectionately called the actor ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his patriotic roles.  He passed away at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at 3:30 am on Friday due to heart-related complications and decompensated liver cirrhosis. Fans best knew Kumar for his iconic films such as ‘Shaheed,’ ‘Upkar,’ and ‘Purab Aur Paschim.’

Tributes have poured in from across the nation, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing deep sorrow over the loss. In a statement, he remarked, “He was an icon of Indian cinema, who was particularly remembered for his patriotic zeal, which was also reflected in his films.” Bollywood celebrities, including Akshay Kumar and Khushbu Sundar, have also mourned his passing, highlighting his enduring legacy in Indian cinema.
