World’s Happiest Countries 2025: Where Does India Stand?

India’s happiness quotient has improved slightly, rising from 126 in 2024 to 118 in the current World Happiness Report, 2025. However, this position still puts India behind other conflict-affected countries, including Ukraine, Mozambique, and Iraq.

Nepal scored highest among India’s neighbouring countries at 92, followed by Pakistan at 109 and China at 68, while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh placed lower at 133 and 134, respectively.

Unhappiest Countries 2025

Afghanistan is regarded as the world’s unhappiest country. The country’s low rating is partly due to the challenges of Afghan women, who have complained that their lives have become more difficult.
