South Korean star Kim Soo-hyun is currently under fire and it all began after actress Kim Sae-ron died by suicide. The actress’s death coincided with Soo-hyun’s birthday. On March 10, in a YouTube video by Garosero Research Institute, Kim Sae-ron’s aunt claimed that the actress had been in a six-year relationship with actor Kim Soo-Hyun. She alleged that the relationship began when Sae-ron was 15 and Soo-hyun was 27.

The actor’s, Gold medalist, denied the allegations, asserting that the two were not romantically involved during Kim Sae-ron’s minor years. But after pictures of the two surfaced on the internet, the actor’s agency confirmed the two were in a relationship but claimed that Sae-ron was 19 when the relationship began.
In the YouTube video, her aunt added that Kim Sae-ron left her previous management agency, YG Entertainment to join Soo-Hyun’s company, Gold Medalist. However, he distanced himself after Kim Sae Ron’d driving under the influence (DUI) case in 2022.
The scandal has had professional repercussions for the actor. Brands such as Prada and Dinto terminated their collaborations with him, citing the severity of the issue. Additionally, the producers of the Korean drama “Good Day” decided to edit out scenes featuring Kim Soo-hyun.

Soo-hyun has now sued the operator of Garo Sero Research Institute and members of Kim Sae-ron’s family. His agency released a statement saying, “GOLD MEDALIST, as the agency managing actor Kim Soo Hyun, has filed a criminal complaint against Kim Sae-eui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as ‘Garo Sero’), who posted a photo of actor Kim Soo Hyun taken with his pants down during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel today. The criminal complaint is also pertaining to the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron and an unidentified individual claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, who allegedly provided the photo to Kim Sae-eui, leading him to post it.”
