11 Spies Nabbed in India for Aiding Pakistan

In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian security agencies launched a sweeping crackdown on suspected espionage networks. Security agencies arrested 11 individuals across India in cities like Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh over the past three days for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Let us tell you all about them:

11 Arrested in India for Spying for Pakistan

The accused include students, a YouTuber, a security guard, and a self-taught app developer, all allegedly recruited via social media, messaging apps, and direct contact. Also, financial incentives and false promises were used to draw them in.

Jyoti Malhotra

Jyoti Malhotra, a travel vlogger from Hisar, Haryana. She reportedly visited Pakistan three times and was in contact with expelled Pakistani High Commission staffer Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish. Authorities accuse Malhotra of being “developed as an asset” and have placed her under police remand.

Gazala and Yameen Mohammad

In Punjab, authorities arrested Gazala and Yameen Mohammad for funnelling money to Pakistani handlers.

Devender Singh

Police claim Devender Singh, a college student, shared military photos. Security forces held Arman and Tarif in Haryana’s Nuh district after recovering WhatsApp messages and Pakistani SIM cards from them.

Nauman Ilahi and Mohammad Murtaza Ali

Meanwhile, officials accused Nauman Ilahi, a security guard, and Mohammad Murtaza Ali, a Jalandhar-based developer, of relaying data through apps.

Shehzad

The Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested Shehzad, who reportedly used cross-border trade as a cover for intelligence operations.

Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh

Investigators charged Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh under the Official Secrets Act for leaking details about troop movements and strategic locations during Operation Sindoor. Police say the duo received Rs 1 lakh for passing on the sensitive information.
